Microsoft Revolution: A Boon for the Digital Era!

Microsoft is an international enterprise founded nearly half a century ago by three pioneers in a joint venture between William Henry Gates III, Paul Gardener Allen and Paul Gilbert on 1972 in Seattle of the Washington State in the United States of America as “Traf-O-Data”, before being renamed to “Microsoft Corporation” in the coming three years, i.e., on “April 4th, 1975”.

Since then, Microsoft Corporation is responsible for the development on latest equipment such as operating systems, office applications, customer service goods and accessories as well as desktops and laptops along with many other things, factors and sectors. Even companies such as Skype, LinkedIn, Xbox, Github, etc. are also fully owned by Microsoft Corporation. As of 2021, Microsoft Corporation has its branches in every superpowered nation like USA, India, Japan, Russia, etc. with a net worth of $168 billion.

                  Microsoft Annual Number of Employees
  • Microsoft total number of employees in 2021 was 181,000, a 11.04 percent increase from 2020.
  • Microsoft total number of employees in 2020 was 163,000, a 13.19 percent increase from 2019.
  • Microsoft total number of employees in 2019 was 144,000, a 9.92 percent increase from 2018.
  • Microsoft total number of employees in 2018 was 131,000, a 5.65 percent increase from 2017.

At present, Microsoft corporation is one of the five largest IT innovative solutions in apartment with amenities such as Apple, Google, Amazon and Meta. It is well renowned as a public entrepreneur for its Windows Operating Systems, Office set of applications, Web Browsers such as Edge and Internet Explorer, Surface Laptops and Desktops as well as video game consoles through Xbox. Microsoft has its permanent seat, currently available, in One Microsoft Way at Redmond City of the Washington State in the United States of America.

Some of the major creations of the Microsoft Corporation include:

Microsoft Disk Operating System (MS-DOS) :

Microsoft Disk Operating System (MS-DOS) was the most initial operating system ever designed by the Microsoft Corporation for their private machinery based on the then introduced 32-bit Very Large Scale Integrated Microprocessor (VLSI). It was later renamed to be received as the well known Disk Operating System (DOS), in general (even as of today), by the laymen due to its interface, heavily based on its predecessor operating system edition, i.e., the Free Disk Operating System which was available and distributed for free to every computer based user.

Likewise as in the Free Disk Operating System, Microsoft Disk Operating System is also operated on a regular basis of the previous (one) link through the Command Line Interface (CLI) that was firstly started by the UNIX Operating System which itself was originally built for serving as an attachment to Computer Programming during the earliest stages in the generations of the Computers, i.e., during the Second World War.

It was later suppressed as an obsolete throwback in the flavour of the next generation technology, i.e., the Graphical User Interface (GUI) which is now predominantly the primary care for more than seventy percentage of today’s computer systems, including Personal Computers, Laptop Computers, Server Computers, Workstation Computers as well as Mobile Phones, Tabletop Role-Playing Computers, Gaming Computers, Film Studio Computers, Smartphones, Audio Visual Presentation Equipment, Factory based Utility Computers, iPods, iPads, Tablets, Phablets, etc. that basically run on the Advanced Operating Systems such as Windows, Android and even Apple iOS as well as every other substitute and alternatives.

Microsoft Windows Operating System (Microsoft Win-OS) :

Microsoft Windows Operating System is an operating system designed with a Graphical User Interface for the Microsoft Disk Operating System to perform the basic (fundamental) as well as advanced computer analytics. It is a common parameter present in a wide variety of continued and discontinued Microsoft devices such as PCs, Surface Laptops, Celluar communication systems, etc. It is a multilingual operating system that houses about more than one hundred languages spoken by the people of nearly every national territory across the globe. It began its origins with a computer system cabinet’s motherboard containing a 16-bit Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI) Microprocessor which was later deemed as the yesterday’s technology and hence was defunct since a decade ago.

For over decades since its arrival, Windows is deemed to the only operating system with the highest rating for the user friendliness as it is apparently generous enough to minimise the needs of the command line interface and increase the graphical user integration not just for its own private Microsoft applications but also for the applications from other operating systems such as Android, previously also required the necessary installation of an external emulator as a self starter and as a biased platform until the early 2021 before the reign of Windows 11 in 5th October of 2021 which permitted the automatic installation of Android applications directly into the operating system’s hard drive without the need of an external emulator as in its predecessors like Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, etc.

As of 2015, during the release preview of Windows 10, it was estimated that about two million applications were available as a net total in Microsoft Windows Store. Microsoft Windows has also grown to be a Platform-Independent operating system similar in vein to the JAVA Operating System of the Sun Microsystems due to its facility of an online Web Service called the “Windows 365” that is capable of hosting a Windows workplace environment for any operating system through an internet browser, also reducing the amount of external applications necessary to be installed on an electronic device to carry out a specific windows task each for every single application installation.

The last few remaining creations of Microsoft which are still being used by a majority of users even today would be:-

–>>  The Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, etc.

–>>  The Microsoft Bing Search Engine, the default search engine for Microsoft browsers.

–>>  The Microsoft Internet Explorer, the outdated but yet not removed browser for Windows.

–>>  The Microsoft Edge Web Browser, the next generation of web browsing for Windows.

–>>  The Microsoft Command Line Interface, i.e., The Microsoft Command Prompt.

–>>  The Microsoft Onedrive Cloud Service for online computing.
